It isn’t the blues, but when I found this photo set of The Beatles playing in Aldershot, England in 1961, for an audience of 18, I had to pass it on. Musicians have their lean times, but it’s hard to comprehend The Beatles as starving artists. They seem to have taken it in stride, getting their laughs through the evening. They knew there wouldn’t be many more nights like this, and Brian Epstein came soon thereafter.
