New FCC chairman Ajit Pai has plans to roll back net neutrality rules. Millions of people sounded off on this three years ago, and it worked. The FCC implemented strong net neutrality rules. Now the telecoms are trying to reverse this, and they have Congress and the new FCC chairman on their side. If you aren’t happy with the idea of Comcast regulating your browsing habits, contact your representatives and tell them what you think. It will take at least a similar outpouring as before.
Comcast is arguing that the “free market,” with no FCC rules, will better preserve net neutrality. Don’t believe this. It has a monopoly or duopoly in most US cities, and its entire business model is based on this. There is no free market in telecoms. Go to senate.gov and house.gov to find your representatives.
