The 2014 Blues Music Awards were presented Thursday night. Susan Tedeschi was honored with three awards, including Contemporary Blues Female Artist and two for her Tedeschi Trucks Band (Best Band, Rock Blues Album). Album of the Year was Remembering Little Walter, a collaborative tribute to the blues harp great, beating out my pick, James Cotton‘s Cotton Mouth Man. Cotton was honored as Traditional Blues Male Artist. Royal Southern Brotherhood won their first award for the DVD Songs from the Road, and Gary Clark Jr. won his first as Contemporary Blues Male Artist.
