Blues rock legend Johnny Winter is dead at 70. He’d been fighting illness for some time. Winter released his first two albums in 1968, Johnny Winter and Progressive Blues Experiment. He and the Allman Brothers Band brought an American influence into the previously chiefly British blues rock genre. He rehabilitated Muddy Waters‘ career in the 70s, producing three albums, arguably Muddy’s best. His contributions to the blues will long be remembered and appreciated.
