If you’re in the Chicago area sometime, the Chicago Blues Experience has opened its doors this week. Buddy Guy has been the driving force behind this, and sits as chairman of an impressive Artist Board. Chi was once the creative and performing blues center, with blues clubs on every other block, they say. Now there are only a handful, with Guy’s Legends being the premiere hub. It’s declined somewhat, but maybe this will raise interest, and be a link between classic and modern music, like the EMP here in Seattle.
Congratulations to Guy, by the way, on his Lifetime Acheivement award at the Grammys last night. Well deserved.
