The Bellevue Downtown Association is presenting its annual Bellevue Jazz & Blues Festival June 1st to the 5th, and reigning “Queen of the Blues” Shemekia Copeland will be featured on the night of Saturday, the 4th, performing two shows. These shows are ticketed apart from the rest of the festival, which is generally free. Her 2015 album Outskirts of Love was nominated both at the Blues Music Awards and the Grammys. There will be free music and events all week, all within a few blocks of Bellevue Square and the Transit Center, so if you have a day off, go out and enjoy the festival.
