The Highway 99 Blues Club is presenting an outdoor concert series this summer across Alaskan Way on the waterfront (by the aquarium). It’s a free event. Randy Oxford’s All Star Slam is playing the third in the series this afternoon at 4:30. There are three more shows scheduled for August. The forecast is warm and sunny for this afternoon, and this will be a great way to enjoy it.
Trombonist Oxford has won multiple awards in the Washington Blues Society’s annual Best of the Blues. He’s been lighting up Northwest clubs since forming his first group in 2003. This year he’s put together hodgepodge of NW musicians to play a series of all-star concerts in the region. Joining him are CD Woodbury, Patrick McDanel, Eddie Mendoza and Willy Straub.
