The music festival season is upon us, starting with the new Upstream Music Festival next weekend, followed by Sasquatch two weeks later, and several more to come this Summer. Watch for Winthrop Rhythm & Blues Festival and Wine Country Blues Festival in July.
Is Upstream going overboard? I mean, we have so many festivals already, we’re probably past our peak. But it’s different. It concentrates over 300 local artists over three days in Pioneer Square, and while you could see these bands any time, you’d probably only see a small percentage of them doing weekend carousing at local clubs over your lifetime. Fest passes are $135, and there’s a free stage in Occidental Park.
