The Washington Blues Society is having its 2018 Best of the Blues Awards Sunday at the NW Music Hall, followed by an afterparty with music by nominees Brian Lee and the Orbiters (traditional blues act), Brett Benton & Gordon Townsend (new blues band, traditional blues act, solo/duo blues act, slide blues guitar, acoustic blues guitar), and The Nick Mardon Trio (new blues band). Some of the Northwest’s best will be there. There are 31 categories, with many familiar names and a few new ones, and plenty of room for the unexpected to happen. Tickets are $25 for members, $30 for non-member adults.
