I’d forgotten I had this until John Kessler mentioned it on the radio last weekend. Sure enough, there it was on the back of the shelf, still in the wrapper. I’ve listened to the album many times, where it’s been cut to 60 minutes to squeeze it onto a single CD, and always thought it was the best blues guitar ever recorded in a single session. Stevie Ray Vaughan is the new guy, but he teaches a few things to the master, Albert King. The video has the entire 90 minutes, with no cuts. Seeing their faces, and watching their mastery, gives you a mental image you can’t forget. The album won’t sound the same.
