SaveKPLU has reached its $7 million goal, a month ahead of the deadline. A $500K matching fund challenge put it over the top. Now it’s just a matter of negotiating a sale with the university, but that just seems like a formality. KPLU’s (any suggestions for new call letters?) wide presence will continue to be felt in Western Washington with its jazz, blues and NPR news format. Easily the best blues station in the NW, mixing it with jazz throughout the day, and presenting All Blues on Saturday and Sunday nights, six hours dedicated to the genre with DJ John Kessler.
