‘KNKX’ doesn’t connect

Blues and jazz station 88.5 KPLU has announced its new call letters, KNKX, or “connects.” It’s a little awkward for me, and the Stranger sees something else entirely. “Kin-kex,” “ken-ukex?” I can’t make the connection.
