There’s a concert and a rally Wednesday preceding the Seattle City Council hearing on expansion of the Pike Place Market Historical District to include the Showbox Theater. Featured will be rock band The Smokey Brights. It’s a congregation to save the historic venue from the wrecking ball and high-price luxury suites. Let’s let democracy prevail over self-serving property rights, as it did when the Public Market itself was saved decades ago.
The rest of the lineup includes Dude York, Ruler, Sassy Black, Sol, and Spirit Award. The concert starts at 4PM and the public hearing is at 6; everything will be at the city hall.
