Matter of fact?

Some bands sound like they generate their music by an algorithm, but can every song be re-created this way? Damien Riehl and Noah Rubin seem to think so, and that given such, are merely sequences of numbers, and open to the public domain. Numbers are facts, and facts can’t be copyrighted. I doubt the Copyright Office will accept this argument, but it’s an interesting take. My brother Joe would have loved this. He was a software engineer with an interest in math, and a great appreciation for music. He even did some MIDI sequencing himself.
