Highway 99 wins national award

The Highway 99 Blues Club is being honored with the Keeping the Blues Alive award, an acknowledgement from The Blues Foundation for significant contributions to the blues by a non-artist. Operating since 2004, The Highway 99 is Seattle’s premier blues venue. Located near the waterfront and under the H99 viaduct, there has been some question of its ability to survive construction and change brought by the demolition of the viaduct. A rent increase and new lease have given it at least a couple more years, and they’ve been optimistic enough to do some remodeling earlier this year. Let’s keep the Highway 99 Blues Club alive! Go to a show there soon. You’ll find great music and atmosphere.
