Alligator Records is offering a free album on its Facebook page, Blues & Roots, in celebration of Public Radio Music Month. Everything from James Cotton to Koko Taylor to Janiva Magness. It isn’t available on their website or on Amazon, so if you aren’t in FB already, it’s worth creating a stub account just to download this collection. I’ve listened to it three times and it’s a deep mix of some soulful blues and rock that is essential to any blues collection. It’s available through May 11th, so get it soon.
